The Grounds & Gardens

The Glasshouse
Fantastic place to stay! Clean cottages, with everything you need in them. Lovely grounds. There is meadows, a lake, glass house (even has a piano inside), a trampoline, enclosed field, and lots of games, etc. Idealic and great location. We loved it so much, we are going again next year.
This lovely place was the perfect venue for our large family reunion, with plenty of space for us all. Each family had their own cottage, which were comfortable and well equipped, and the large field was a great area for games for the grandchildren. The Glasshouse was a beautiful venue for our sociable meals together. John and Sarah were welcoming and helpful hosts.
An excellent place for a family celebration with children and grandchildren with each family having their own accommodation but children free to play in the extensive grounds. Accommodation was comfortable and it was great to have use of the glasshouse for celebration meals in the evenings. Love,y walks from the property as well as easy access to beaches and the East Devon countryside. Highly recommended.
We spent a beautiful week at the Bull Pen. We find the rooms spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. We made good use of the herb garden, cooking supper. In the morning, we enjoyed watching the riders from the nearby stables go past the window. The grounds are extensive, great for a stroll, and there are so many walks just on the doorstep. We walked from there down to the river, and watched the sand-martins. The bench outside is a real sun trap in the late afternoon..perfect for a quiet spot to read. At the moment the cherry blossom is out…so hopefully a good crop later in the year!
A most relaxing setting in a well preserved corner of South East Devon.
With large grounds the perfectly presented and equipped cottages provide a great spot for unwinding in the local tranquil area or heading out to sample the water sports or off road cycle trails. Many options close by for lovely beaches & sports. Slightly further afield there is access to fully established and graded off road cycle trails, segway adventures and jet ski tuition.
I stayed here with my 15 year old son and we had a thoroughly nice week.

What an amazing place – super friendly and helpful owners as well!
We spent a lovely weekend at Tritchayne. Lovely cottages, extremely clean and comfortable with everything we needed. It’s only ten-minutes from the coast [Beer and Lyme] and sits in an area of outstanding natural beauty [amazing views]. John and Sarah are lovely hosts and made us feel welcome, even recommending a lovely little restaurant in the nearby village and only 15-minutes’ walk. We will definitely stay again and recommend to friends, as it would a great place for a family or group of friends to stay.

Surrounded by gorgeous English countryside and only a ten-minute drive from the coast, Tritchayne cottages was the perfect venue for our group of 18 to celebrate New Years. Spread across five neighbouring cottages, the rooms were clean and had incredibly comfortable beds. In the day we explored the local area and, in the evening, made great use of the jewel in Tritchayne Cottage’s crown, the glass house. This room made dining and partying together extremely easy as it could probably seat around 25 and was well equipped with crockery and cutlery (having cooked in the cottages).
The host was accommodating and kind, best illustrated by the home-made mince pies and clotted cream provided in each room. I can’t overstate our gratitude to him for accepting a booking of 18+ twenty somethings for New Years. Thanks again!!

Last minute break for the family. From the moment we arrived the cottage was amazing and so nicely furnished.
The outside is plentiful if you want to just relax or have children and space to play.
The cottage was full of extras you don’t normally get. Fresh scones and clotted cream on arrival, logs for the wood burner, games and books for everyone. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking and plenty of everyday cookware.
We brought our family dog; the owners had left some treats along with dog bowels and blankets.
The bed linen and towels are better than most hotels and the 2 bathrooms are more the adequate for a family of 5.
Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant. Thank you
